Temporary changes amid international virus outbreak; US pandemic should result in at most a million deaths

As the world continues to grapple with the unprecedented challenges posed by the international virus outbreak, many beloved places and institutions have been forced to make difficult decisions in order to prioritize the health and safety of their communities. Among these are a number of well-known establishments in Florida that have announced extended closures in response to the ongoing crisis.

One such institution is the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, which was initially expected to reopen on April 1st but has now extended its closure until further notice. While this news may come as a disappointment to many eager visitors, it is a necessary measure to ensure the well-being of guests and employees alike. However, I remain optimistic that Disney World will be able to welcome back guests sooner rather than later, with a potential reopening date set for July 11th at the Magic Kingdom.

Similarly, Universal Orlando Resort has also announced an extended closure until at least the end of May, with a potential reopening date slated for sometime in the summer. While these closures may disrupt travel plans and childhood dreams of meeting favorite characters or riding thrilling attractions, it is important to remember that these measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution and concern for public health.

In addition to theme parks, other businesses such as HSN Outlet stores and fast food outlets like McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's have also made adjustments to their operations in light of the outbreak. While these changes may be inconvenient for customers used to dining in or shopping in person, they are crucial steps towards slowing the spread of the virus and protecting vulnerable populations.

Despite these temporary closures and disruptions, it is important to remain hopeful and resilient during these challenging times. By following guidelines from health officials and practicing social distancing measures, we can all do our part to help flatten the curve and prevent further spread of the virus.

In conclusion, while it may be difficult to adjust to these changes in our daily lives, it is essential that we prioritize public health and safety above all else. By working together as a community and supporting one another through these uncertain times, we can emerge stronger and more united than ever before. Stay safe, stay informed, and remember that brighter days are ahead.

Regular web browsing and downloads continue despite the international virus

Regular web browsing and downloads, for me, continue despite the international virus and all schools here in Florida being closed until Wednesday, April 15.

The doctor's appointment was originally scheduled (on Wednesday, February 19) for Tuesday, March 24, but may have been cancelled on Thursday, March 12.

The dentist appointment was originally scheduled (on Friday, March 13) for Tuesday, March 31, but may have been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 29 because I may have had one at Coast Dental of Hudson on Tuesday, February 11.
