An interesting (modified) lockdown of Hudson High School to wrap up the week

As I stepped into Hudson High School this morning, little did I know that the day would unfold in a way that none of us could have anticipated. The home of the Cobras, with its vibrant red and gold school colors, was thrown into chaos as the school, along with Hudson Middle School and Northwest Elementary School, went into a modified lockdown due to reports of a "monster" possessing a weapon on school grounds.

The atmosphere was tense as we followed the instructions from the principal's office and huddled in our classrooms. As the lockdown continued, the police conducted a thorough search of the school in an attempt to locate the "monster." It was a surreal experience, to say the least.

Despite the fear and uncertainty that hung in the air, I found moments of solace amidst the chaos. One such moment came when I decided to listen to "If a Monster Comes In Our Room" by Alvin and the Chipmunks from the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein. The playful melody brought some much-needed levity to an otherwise serious situation.

Eventually, as the modified lockdown drew to a close, we were all relieved to be able to resume our regular activities. The bell schedule for the rest of the day was adjusted accordingly, but it didn't dampen our spirits. We were just grateful that everyone was safe.

As I left Hudson High School for my mother Lana Stanberry's apartment in Hudson Hills Manor, I couldn't help but reflect on how unexpected events can disrupt our daily routines. But amidst it all, there is always an opportunity to find moments of joy and connection – whether it's through music or simply coming together as a community during challenging times.

Now, as I settle in for the weekend ahead, I am reminded of the importance of cherishing every moment and finding ways to bring light into even the darkest of situations. And what better way to unwind than by indulging in my favorite shows on HSN through DirecTV?

Today may have been filled with unexpected twists and turns, but it also served as a reminder that resilience and positivity can prevail even in the face of adversity. Here's to embracing life's surprises and finding moments of joy wherever we go.
